COVID-19: the current situation in Tajikistan

There is no any Coronavirus Disease - 2019 (COVID-19) cases registered in Tajikistan by today - April 26, 2020. But the people are still feel threatened and worried about it, and trying to prevent the spread of the virus in the country. Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are the two  countries in Central Asia, where still no any cases of the COVID-19 registered.

How Tajikistan is protecting itself from the COVID-19?

Flights to/from Tajikistan is closed since March 20 officially. "According to the instructions of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in order to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus infection and ensure the safety of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, Somon Air has temporarily suspended all international flights from / to Tajikista?n from March 20, 2020." - writes Somon Air on their website. Before March 20, the flights to Tajikistan were open, but the passengers coming to Tajikistan were carantined for some days to make sure that they do not have the COVID-19 symtopms. 

All the borders to Tajikistan are closed, while the schools, , masjids, markets and other institutions are still working as regularly. 

Tajikistan opens charity accounts for those who want to help the countries fighting against coronavirus

"To strengthen the anti-epidemiological measures due to the pandemic of the coronavirus COVID-19 and the centralization of financial assistance, charity accounts were opened in the Central Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank of the country (in national currency - Somoni, US dollars and Russian rubles)," reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic.
