The Pamirs are among the world's highest mountains. They are also known as the "Roof of the world". The Pamir Mountains are formed by the junction of the Hymalayas with Tian Shan, Karakoram, Kunlun, and Hindu Kush ranges. They are mostly situated in Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan.
There are many glaciers in The Pamirs Mountains, including 77 km long Fedchenko glacier, the longest outside polar region.
