After a two-year closure, the Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan border reopened in July 2023. To cross this border, travelers require special permission from the Kyrgyz government, a service provided by local Kyrgyz travel agencies.
Currently, direct border crossings are not allowed for Tajik and Kyrgyz citizens. Therefore, border crossing involves changing vehicles at the border and walking through a 500-meter neutral zone at Kyzyl Art Pass, situated at 4180 meters above sea level. For our Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan cross-border tours, we collaborate with our Kyrgyz partners. They obtain the necessary border permits and transfer our guests from the border to Osh.
Please note that these permit procedures are temporary and may change with the full reopening of the border. We will keep our website users and travelers updated on any changes to the Tajik-Kyrgyz border crossing regulations.
